Petri, Master of Science in Technology, works as a Development Manager at KNL. Over the last years he has been allowed to be part of KNL’s success story in different roles related to technical and operational projects. As an example Petri has been responsible for procurements, project deliveries, integrations and implementations as well as quality development projects.

“I joined KNL in March 2017 after working almost twenty years in an international telecom company. I worked as a Development and Project Manager in various technical service and system development projects in telecom business. I ended up looking for a new position in the Oulu region as (then) my current role would have been transferred from Oulu to the capital city area. I was lucky and found KNL and a new career through my own network. Among other responsibilities, I started with network monitoring and radio software updates," Petri says.

Continuous improvement all the time
As a specialist, Petri is a hands-on person enjoying participating in solving problems and analysing alternatives and solutions. He is able to see and coordinate the big picture but also has the needed skills to dig into smaller details. He is known as an efficient and reliable member of KNL team who is easy to work with. When KNL identified the need to certify their quality management system, Petri was a natural choice to lead the project. Petri advanced to a new position in his career when he also took the role of Quality Manager.

“We quickly formed a good team and started thinking and researching together what needs to be done and what areas to focus on. In the end it was a happy and meaningful moment when both ISO 9001 and AQAP 2110 quality certificates would be audited at the same time. Quality certificates have a significant impact and meaning to the company and business growth opportunities. We have worked hard together for quality and continue to do so also in the future. It's like continuous improvement in everything”, Petri says.

Cycling to work and lots of team sports
Petri enjoys a good work-life balance and likes to exercise a lot and diversely. “When I ride my bike in the morning, I also prepare for the day to come. When I'm cycling back home in the afternoon, it's easy to wind down and put work aside”. Team sports, such as floorball and football, are also important social hobbies for team player Petri.

Petri hopes that in the future, he could continue to work with interesting projects where he can learn something new. He feels that throughout the KNL years he’s been involved in many projects and he’s able to see the results of his work. Atmosphere has always been motivating and encouraging with professional teammates.

“I am happy that I am able to work with committed and talented people. All are friendly and it’s always possible to ask for help. Let’s continue to work together and go towards big goals.”
